I was naturally very skeptical of this update, I'm very critical of any supposed extension of the Urantia Papers because I know there have been those who use the UB as a means of inflating their egos, but this update has been uploaded from an anonymous human author and there wouldn't be much gain in putting this out there unless there was legitimacy behind it.Despite various oddities in the format like repeated paragraphs, the content was useful and carries with it the charm of the original papers from the 1930s.If anyone is interested in discussing this curious update and the urantia movements potential for our ongoing development as a species moving foreward into the future, please find your way to the "Urantian Think Tank" discord channel, also accessible through the Urantia reddit page. :)

Reading another person's take on the Urantia Book is always a thrill but I did not find it at the profound, scholarly accurate language the Revelators maintained throughout the original revelation. I am always open to read anything and allow the spirit within to help me discern what is true by personal experience. I felt this was an attempt to define for themselves concepts they gleaned from the Urantia Book. I have done this assignment myself to own more of the intellectual concepts by putting them in my own words. Many explanations were incongruent with specific definitions already clarified in the Urantia Book. The author gives a fun script of what might have been said in the courtroom during Lucifers trial but it was tv quality dialogue. I would want to see it filmed though. I would recommend this essay to anyone who would like to understand the Urantia Book from the mind of another reader because we need to understand each others perspective so we may more fully love our spirit brothers.

It seems as if “some” of this could be true, but any seriousness that could be contrived from this quickly vanishes as its contradictions with the Urantia book on the concept of evil, as well as many grammatical and spelling errors. Revelation or commentary, this should have been proofread by the “personalities” involved.

As a long time reader of the Urantia Book I read this book in a Kindle edition with great interest. I have no doubt this material is authentic. But the material must be edited. There are hundreds of errors in punctuation, spelling, and duplication of text which must be corrected before this revelatory update can be considered ready for printing.

I know you want to read this book. I also know you are afraid. If this book is real, then it has profound implications. The status quo has been shattered, and it is much easier to pretend it's all a hoax. This makes you uncomfortable, and that discomfort can lead to growth. The thing is, this has happened. A new contact personality has come forward. They released a first edition weeks ago, and promised updates. They just released this new edition, and followed through on releasing another book too called UR Blues. This book doesn't focus on fear, it focuses on wonder, thought, improvement, understanding, and hope. It acknowledges fear, and moves past it. Can you move past your fear for the price of a triple cheeseburger?

I was looking forward to debunking this as a fraud but i can't. It's written with the same intelligent speech we know from the Urantia Book and it does push the narrative forward on several fronts. It would have earned five stars if it had just been longer instead of only 60 pages

The book is advertised as being good for handouts. That is a false advertisement. It is not possible to remove the pages from the book without at best having a very rough edge, at worst tearing the page. The binding on the book is so strong that the book cannot be placed flat while open, making it impossible to photocopy the pages without distorting the material. I looked for a website where I could download the material to print it myself, but could not find one. In my opinion, regardless of how good the material itself might be, it is not usable in its current format.

I was disappointed by this activity book. First, I felt the description is a bit misleading. While the book IS an activity book, I was anticipating recommendations for applying the activities. It advertises "100 illustrated handouts" but really, 53 of the handouts are coloring pages. (The book has each individual letter of the entire alphabet to color, as well as several mandalas.)Let me first explain that, as someone who worked in the arts, I realize that the author & artist really isn't making money off this book in that it is designed to be photocopied. So, in theory, an entire group can survive off only paying for this book once by just copying the activities. Artists deserve money for their work, and I am happy to pay for the time and effort the artist put into designing these activities.Unfortunately, I wish 53 of them were not coloring pages. (As coloring pages go, there are far better resources out there.) This would be much better as a digital download or e-book where you could buy the individual chapters/activities. I would happily pay a la cart for this.Pros:-Easy to photocopy! The bold, black lines and clear text transfer well on a copier compared to other activity books that have "fade out" on certain lines. The fact that this book is designed to be photocopied is fantastic.-the font/text choices on the activities is "fun" but not kiddish, making it easy to apply these activities to both adolescents, teens, and adults.Cons:-No instructions for the activities.-"100 handouts" is misleading; 53 are literal coloring pages. (The entire alphabet, one page at a time, makes up much of the last chapter.)-No perforated edges on pages, meaning to photocopy the book must be folded- Many of the spaces designed to be colored are awkwardly shaped; markers will bleed into other sections, crayons will be too thick, making pen your only real option for coloring spaces.All in all, this might be the first book I return simply because I'm disappointed in the content. If I had known this much of the book was coloring VS activities, I wouldn't have purchased it.

Great worksheets for students to express themselves. Would be perfect if you could buy a digital version or in a 3 ring binder. It says "photocopiable" but the pages don't lay flat enough to make a nice copy.

I really like this book and most of the pages are pretty good. I strongly dislike one thing, and moderately dislike a second thing.Strongly dislike: why are 26 pages wasted, one for each letter of the alphabet? I could easily google and print that, it has no clear connection to CBT or therapy at all.Moderately dislike: there is very little variation in the complexity of the coloring pages, so they're only really effective for people who are allowed and can effectively use perfectly sharp colored pencils to color in very small mandala-type patterns. I wish there was some variation for my patients who would enjoy these but are limited to the use of crayons and markers.

Does not have much originality and very few ideas for the cost of this product.

There are maybe ten "handouts" - not really handouts, as the author cheaped out on binding and released the book in a tightly bound edition that cannot be flatly scanned, nor are pages perforated - that are potentially useful out of 136 pages. The rest are random color-for-fun pages, of which better ilk can be downloaded for free from pinterest.I bought this book for myself as a patient, so to make so much of this book useless and to lie about the photocopability gives the perception that the author published this as a quick money grab. If you really have been a therapist for 14 years, don't make "Part 2" of the book the "Colouring Collection". Six out of the book's thirteen references should not be literature about drawing mandalas when the book's focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

For kids, but not adults. I can find better activities or similar ones on the web and they are free. The art is just coloring the borders around an activity. Expected more. Maybe I read the description wrong.

This has some fun and creative prompts to use with clients, or even yourself. Being a graduate student in Art Therapy, I've shown this to my classmates, and professors, and they were too impressed. Though I will agree with previous raters that though it boasts being "photocopiable" it is difficult to do so without breaking the binding.

This is a must have book for any filmmaking student or professional in my opinion. Understanding the components and sub components that combine to create visual structure is just as impoerative as understanding and learning how to manipulate the components of story structure when writing a script.This and the newer edition are excellent tools to have and be able to reference.

I had to get this book for a class I'm taking (Visual Language of the Moving Image) at UCF. Like most books that we are required to purchase, I wasn't too happy about it... But, honestly, this one is different. It is very well written and illustrated. I actually love this book. Bruce Block knows his stuff, and, more importantly, he knows how teach it.

It is not in my habit to comment every book I own, but with this one I have to make an exception. I have read many books on both visual aesthetics and cinematography, and by far I must say that this one is the most exiting and detailed book on the subject that I have seen so far.The book is very well structured and explains all imaginable (and many un-imaginable) aspects of visual composition and staging of both moving and still image.I also believe that this book is valuable not only for cinematography, but for all other brands of visual artistry as well. Even if you were only painting pictures, this book has valuable things to give to you.I simply love this book.

But if you are using pictures to tells stories, do you know what your pictures are saying? Today, with the means of production accessible to everyone with about $10K, we are about to see the equivalent of desktop publishing a decade later with video.Do you want your production to look like the video equivalent of the ransom notes produced by people who made every letter a different font just because they could?The Visual Story makes the fundamental elements of visual language understandable. Best architecture book that keeps you creative!

I am a sophomore architecture major at Marywood University. This book was incredibly helpful with terms and definitions as I worked my way through freshman year. I know I will use this book for years to come. If anyone is looking to learn about architecture and how space interacts with our world, this is a perfect book. I rate it very highly!!!

The Language of Space and Form is a must for anyone interested in understanding the foundation principles of design in architecture. The breakdown of the book is well organized and introduces basic vocabulary needed to describe . Photographs of student work at various architecture programs compliment the written descriptions, offering a better visual of the descriptions.

I have been teaching architecture and interior architecture for since 2002 and this book elegantly conveys the foundation language needed for the beginning design student and should become one of those books that you never want to sell after leaving school. This book should also be reviewed by professional architects and designers every so often to remind themselves that even real design commissions should start with strong concepts.

I had been wondering for a while (like the past year or so) what Power Query was, but I was not really finding a good, clear answer. When this book became available I got a good, clear answer. I was excited previously by Power Pivot and what was possible with it, but this book changed the way I looked at a number of my usual tasks when I thought Power Pivot was going to be the answer. Power Query provides SQL query capabilities from within Excel, and provides an excellent pathway for data to come into Excel from both external and internal sources, and the authors demonstrate those capabilities very well. This was my favorite book purchase for 2015 and I plan on using it heavily in the coming years.

Having danced around Ken Puls' ExcelGuru.ca website in moments of Power Query need I felt it was time to get back to the basics and finally learn a solid foundation as opposed to jumbled pieces put together over time. The one thing that I will say about this book is there is a LOT of information packed into 226 pages from getting started to the much more advanced topics found in the later chapters. Several times my eyes were almost in disbelief at the potential of Power Query (Get & Transform) and how I could immediately start putting this into action at the day job. Having an earlier edition of the book I realized several times throughout that Microsoft's improvements have eliminated some of the more tedious steps of Power Query past. Both Ken and Miguel's overall tone throughout the book was also a testament to respecting their audience's Excel experience and going in depth only as needed to allow each lesson to continue to build on one another.I would highly recommend this book to anyone in a Data Analyst or Reporting Analyst role.

Probably the only decent book out there that is specifically geared to the power query model. I was looking for a solution to merge two QuickBooks reports I had dumped out to CSV files. This book solved my problem. Can't beat that. If you are a QB user and hate the Advance Report engine, dump that junk and dig into power query.11/22/16: I have since used PQ extensively since acquiring this book. This is a great starter book, but I quickly flew past it into more complicated areas not covered by this edition. There is a whole lot of stuff Ken and Miguel can go into in a follow up book. They should look at publishing an edition that focuses on the Mashup Query Language solutions itself as a companion to the this book.

I bought this book with the expectation that I needed to know M and that I would start learning M from the beginning of this book. But this book does an excellent job of demonstrating why the Power Query user interface is so powerful, and why -- although you sometimes do need to write M code -- the UI is still your starting point. By the time I reached chapter 6 (unpivoting a table) I felt the book had already paid for itself... and there's way more to come.

Good book on M, it successfully straddles the how and why. This may be the only definitive guide on M out there at the moment, I'm not sure how I got by without Power Query for as long as I have. There are some useful books on DAX (this is NOT a book on DAX), but don't overlook the role of pre-shaping and automating your data model. Power Query is one of those things that once you get it, you just get it. This was the first book I purchased on my recent journey into Power BI, and I'd do it all again. Bought the Kindle version, and after getting through it, I bought the physical book. It's that useful.

I learned about the multiple uses of Power Query about a year ago and it has revolutionized my data analysis skillset. The stuff I can do with PQ now is unbelievable whereas beforehand, it was impossible. I can take reports from a .txt and do wizardry through PQ and create a proper dataset that can then be summarized. I can do this each month now and be done literally within minutes. This book teaches the wizardry for becoming a data magician. Well worth my money.

Awesome reference - I have used it so much that it is ragged and frayed! And what's neat is that everything that you learn about Power Query (PQ) is translatable to Excel Power BI (where it found as Get Data). I like to describe PQ as the "Excel import wizard on steroids" and it is invaluable to those of us that use/combine/mash together data from disparate sources. This reference has the broadest and deepest compilation of PQ "stuff" out there. Couple that with a well keyed Google/Bing search and you can easily find a way to your data end point.

Power Query, although it's been around for a few years now, is just coming into its own, and there aren't many books on the subject. So for Excel users wanting to know more about Power Query, Ken & Miguel have done a great job of collecting what you need to know to save yourself A LOT of time automating the transforming, cleaning, & loading of data. They focus on teaching Power Query through examples that will be recognizable to anyone who deals with data on a regular basis. For all the Excel users out there that are just discovering Power Pivot, do yourselves a big favor and go ahead and get familiar with Power Query as well - this is a good book to have on your shelf.
